Head of Environmental Sustainability - Louise Perrin

Louise Perrin has spent literally decades preparing for her new role as Head of Environmental Sustainability at ARV, working in environmental management for 19 years and as Mt Stirling’s operations manager for 13 years.

A proud Mansfield local, Louise, her husband Ash, daughter Nina, 15 and 12 year old twins Chloe and Rose, live on the property where Louise grew up, enjoying the various activities the nearby mountains and lake have to offer.

The new head of environmental sustainability is responsible for delivering on ARV’s core legislative responsibilities associated with climate change action and environmental sustainability across the Victorian alpine resorts.

Louise says she is excited to part of the new management team and praised her work team, who have worked together for over a decade at Buller-Stirling Resorts.

“ARV is a wonderful, vibrant and diverse workplace filled with passionate, hard-working and motivated people. I want to make the most of opportunities to improve the sustainability of these amazing places with such high environmental values; climate change mitigation and adaptation projects, best practice and transformative environmental strategies and management, and to position ARV as a leader in the management of these rare and special Australian alpine areas.”

“We are getting more and more visitors to our mountain resorts, and it’s so important that we balance tourism with the environment. Our alpine regions are unique. We need to intensively care for them in the face of climate change to increase resilience so future generations can keep loving all they offer.”

Louise is experienced in threatened species management, rehabilitation of alpine habitats, integrated pest animal and plant control, track and trail development, and renewable energy projects.  She has a Bachelor of Applied Science with Honours in natural resource management.
