Alpine Resorts Victoria (ARV) has successfully completed all the deliverables outlined in the Minister’s Letter of Expectations, , representing a significant milestone for ARV.

Issued at the organisation’s inception in October 2022, the Letter of Expectations set out priority areas for ARV, including implementing the transition to a new organisational structure, engaging with stakeholders, ensuring financial sustainability, integrating climate change adaptation into business practices, strengthening partnerships with Traditional Owners, and leading sector-wide strategic planning.

Key accomplishments in alignment with the Letter of Expectations includes:

  • Implementing a new organisational structure ahead of the 2023 winter season, supported by amalgamation of major systems, processes and business practices.
  • Establishing Stakeholder Consultative Committees across each of the resorts within the first 2 months of operation, well ahead of the one-year timeline required by legislation.
  • Developing a Pathway to Financial Sustainability Report, underpinned by a long-term financial plan, identifying a range of strategic opportunities to position the resorts for success.
  • Delivering on new legislative responsibilities and showing sector leadership in the areas of climate change adaptation and traditional owner self-determination, with new all-resorts' strategies guiding efforts in both of these areas.
  • Leading strategic planning across the sector through work like the economic impact study, bushfire insurance feasibility plan, service reviews, asset management strategy, and  re-draft of the Alpine Resorts Strategic Plan.

Amber Gardner (CEO) praised the achievement, stating: “This is a real watershed moment for ARV.  A significant amount of work has been undertaken to amalgamate the four RMBs into one organisation, and lift operations while delivering strategic planning to inform a sustainable way forward for the resorts.

“Moving into 2026, we will transition into more of a business-as-usual rhythm, and renew our focus on delivering great outcomes for our resorts, visitors and stakeholders.”

Ali Wastie, ARV Board Chair, described the completion of these deliverables “as a proud moment for the ARV Board and management team. This is a great achievement for Alpine Resorts Victoria and further reinforces its commitment to sustainable growth and sector leadership”.
