A key focus for ARV in the 2024/25 financial year is addressing the energy security issues faced by ARV’s ‘off-grid’ resorts: Mt Baw Baw, Lake Mountain and Mt Stirling.
Phase one of the development of ARV Energy Performance and Management Plans will examine energy consumption trends at each of these resorts and consider long term solutions for reducing our carbon footprint including:
- risk assessment and feasibility studies for renewable energy solutions where they are not currently being used
- examination of energy efficiency/recovery opportunities including vehicle, plant and building energy performance
- resort access to green energy bulk supply and carbon offset agreements.
Ultimately the plans will include a recommended implementation plan for each resort and examine opportunities for infrastructure funding.
A Request for Tender will be issued to the market for phase one (Lake Mountain, Mt Baw Baw and Mt Stirling) in August 2024 with phase two, covering Falls Creek, Mt Hotham and Mt Buller, anticipated for January 2025.
