This winter, ARV will be moving towards all purchases being made digitally, either online, via debit or credit card. This move is reflective of the broader step-change in the culture at the moment, where cash is no longer the preferred method of payment for the majority of travellers.

This change will come into effect for this winter season, so any resort entry permits that are purchased for winter 2025 will need to be purchased online, or at the gate entry ticket booth, with either a debit or credit card.

ARV anticipates this change will be broadly accepted by visitors to the resorts, as less than 1% of purchases are done so in cash.

The key benefits of making this change include:

  • A safer and more secure method of transacting with guests.
  • A safer resort for our valued employees as they will no longer be handling cash tender.
  • Better efficiencies in resort, as securely transferring cash has a significant cost impact.

Guests will be notified via a series of communication points prior to their visit, including signage in valley towns, signage at the gate entrance, and if they are arriving on a bus, ARV will ensure the tour operators are aware and can communicate this message to support a positive guest experience.

For more information on what cash facilities might be available at each resort, visit the resort visitor websites.
