The Alpine Resorts Leasing Policy is a whole of government policy that informs how alpine leasing is administered within Victoria’s alpine resorts. ARV has led the review and revision of the draft Alpine Resorts Leasing Policy, in partnership with the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) and a group of dedicated stakeholders.
The draft Policy has been revised to ensure the values of consistency, certainty and transparency are embedded throughout the Policy and related Procedures, to simplify the requirements for different lease terms and periods. The draft Policy now features a lease term matrix which ensures lessees and future lessees have the clarity, certainty and transparency to make informed investment decisions.
ARV established a Stakeholder Reference Group (SRG) to ensure the draft Policy delivers on both the government’s priorities for leasing on Crown land and meets the needs and future aspirations of the alpine sector. The SRG included representatives from each resort’s Stakeholder Consultative Committees, as well as alpine real estate sector, and Alpine Resorts Industry Advisory Group (ARIAG). The SRG’s experience in the alpine sector has shaped and refined the principles within the draft Policy and each of the related Procedures.
ARV welcomes review and feedback from all interested parties, with all documents available for review via the Engage Victoria platform until Sunday 18 January 2026.
