The Melbourne Prize for Literature 2024 will feature a new prize for two lucky Victorian published authors – each writer will receive a Falls Creek Writers’ Residency, which will include apartment accommodation at Falls Creek plus $1,000 (incl. GST) cash (provided by Readings bookshops).

The Melbourne Prize Trust, established in 2004, provides financial and professional development opportunities to artists by running the annual Melbourne Prize, which operates in a three-year cycle:

  • Melbourne Prize for Urban Sculpture (2023)
  • Melbourne Prize for Literature (2024)
  • Melbourne Prize for Music (2025)

This year’s program will provide opportunities to Victorian published authors to develop their careers, as well as showcasing the literary sector to the sector. An exhibition of the work of the finalists will be on show at Fed Square from October 30 to November 14.

The recipients of the Falls Creek Writers’ Residencies will be announced on 14 November at www.melbourneprize.org.
