Victoria’s alpine resorts are gearing up to welcome the official start of the 2026 snow season across the King’s Birthday long weekend, with opening celebrations kicking off on Saturday 6 June.
With just over a week until the opening weekend kicks off, businesses are setting the stage for an exciting start to this year’s snow season. No matter which resort you head to for the June long weekend there will be marshmallows roasting, facing painting and the opportunity to get back into the resort’s great venues for true alpine hospitality.
Across the Victorian Alpine Resorts visitors can expect a vibrant program of events, entertainment and alpine experiences as the resorts come alive for winter.

Each resort will showcase its unique alpine character with a full schedule of festivities:

What’s New for 2026
Across the alpine resorts you will see new lift ticket and lesson packages, enhanced guest experiences and expanded activities to ensure there is something for everyone, from first-time snow-goers to seasoned skiers and snowboarders.
The Hotham Hub Snow Play and Activity Centre offers tobogganing, snow play, gear hire and a place to relax indoors and refuel.
An immersive art installation experience within the resort is unlike any other in the Australian Alps and is not to be missed during your Falls Creek visit.
As anticipation builds for the season ahead, the temperatures are dropping and a hive of activity is occurring around the resorts.
