Alpine Resort Victoria is proud to be the grateful beneficiary of Victorian State and Commonwealth recovery funding following the Bogong High Plains Road landslip event that began in October 2022. This was one of the most complex landslips Victoria has faced in 40 years, closing northern access for seven months and requiring 20 months of restoration works. Over 600,000 tonnes of material were removed to reopen the road and reconnect our alpine community.
Social and economic recovery have been at the heart of the Falls Creek Recovery Program, addressing the isolation, event cancellations, and loss of visitation caused by the closure. FEASTIVAL Falls Creek is the perfect embodiment of these recovery pillars—bringing people together while boosting tourism and local business.
