The Alpine Leasing Policy Review progress continues, led by ARV in partnership with the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA), and supported by a stakeholder reference group.

The aim of the review is to develop a contemporary policy that provides prudent and flexible options for leases within Victoria's alpine resorts. The new policy will also help protect the environmental, social and economic values of the resorts while acknowledging the likely impacts of climate change in the medium to long term.

Meeting monthly, the stakeholder reference group provides feedback on leasing procedures, the matrix criteria for determining lease term categories, and the methodology for valuing alpine leases, which are all important elements of the new policy.

The draft policy will be released for public consultation via the Engage Victoria website by the end of 2024, and ARV will inform stakeholders once its available.
