ARV is currently undertaking consultation to develop the ARV Climate Change Adaptation Strategy, with engagement with Stakeholder Consultative Committees (SCCs) occurring throughout August and September.

This strategy is being led by Louise Perrin, ARV’s Head of Environmental Sustainability, who is working with specialist environmental consulting firm, Nation Partners.

Louise, together with Nation Partners has met with some SCCs already, to hear what changes they have already made to adapt to our changing climate. ARV is undertaking this consultation to better understand how the resorts and stakeholders have been adapting to climate change, and to garner insights to inform the development of the ARV Climate Change Adaptation Strategy, which is due to be released later this year.

Louise Perrin said targeted consultation was also planned with ARV's lift company partners as well as Traditional Owner groups.

The new strategy will provide a roadmap of practical actions for ARV to put in place over the next decade.

With an all-resorts approach, it will be underpinned by the latest climate change science and will look at ways the sector can adapt to a new climate landscape. It will also provide ARV with a framework for future decision making to ensure the financial sustainability and economic resilience of Victoria’s alpine resorts is maintained.

More detail about the strategy will be available in the coming months.
