The Diega festival marked its seventh successful year and its first at Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort, delivering an unforgettable experience for music lovers and while showcasing the mountains beauty in summer.

Held from 30 December to 2 January, the independent festival welcomed over 1,000 ticket holders, volunteers and staff, creating a vibrant community atmosphere 1500m above sea level.

This year’s event featured two unique stages:

  • The Alpine Bowl, offering panoramic views from the Hut slope, hosted the main stage.
  • The Nordic Bowl, was an intimate setting with a smaller stage, provided a close-up experience.

A full program of music was complemented by  daily yoga sessions that offered a moment of calm, while the festival’s signature “clean-up song” encouraged patrons to actively maintain the pristine alpine environment.

The event was delivered in close collaboration with Alpine Resorts Victoria, DECCA, Parks Victoria, Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria and local Fire Services, ensuring safety and compliance.

Environmental stewardship remained a priority, with the organisers of the event responsible for all waste removal and ensuring sensitive areas within the resort were protected.

This festival is an example of how event organisers can work successfully partner with ARV to utilise space within the alpine resorts in green season, while also contributing to the economic benefit of resort operators and working towards a sustainable future for ARV.
