The Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) has prepared Planning Scheme Amendment C30alpr to the Alpine Resorts Planning Scheme, which applies to all land within Victoria's six alpine resorts.

The amendment implements recommendations from the Alpine Resorts Planning Scheme Review (2021) and the Alpine Resorts Planning Scheme Review Addendum (2026). These reviews were undertaken to meet the requirements of the Planning and Environment Act 1987, which requires planning schemes to be regularly reviewed to ensure they remain effective, efficient and aligned with Victoria's planning objectives.

The proposed amendment aims to modernise and improve the planning framework for Victoria's alpine resorts by ensuring local planning policies and schedules remain up to date, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the planning scheme, refining zoning and overlay provisions, correcting mapping anomalies, and identifying future strategic planning work.

The changes are intended to support a contemporary, clear and fit-for-purpose planning framework that enables sustainable management and development of Victoria's alpine resorts.
