The 2026 International Women’s Day (IWD) theme, Give to Gain, encourages a mindset of generosity, collaboration and shared success. It highlights the power of reciprocity when individuals, organisations and communities give their time, resources and support, opportunities for women grow, creating benefits that extend well beyond any single person.

At Alpine Resorts Victoria (ARV), we are proud of the strong gender balance across our organisation. Women make up 48% of our workforce, a significant achievement within an industry that has been traditionally male dominated. This shift not only reflects our commitment to being an equal opportunity employer, it also demonstrates the progress we are making in opening doors and creating pathways that were not always available to women in alpine and outdoor recreation sectors.

This commitment is also evident in our leadership. ARV’s Executive Team, led by CEO Amber Gardner, comprises five women and three men. Our Board, chaired by Ali Wastie, mirrors this strength in representation with five women and three men. This diversity brings depth to our decision making, strengthens organisational culture, and helps ensure our work reflects the communities and stakeholders we serve.

Across ARV, we foster an environment where knowledge sharing, professional development, training opportunities and support are available to all employees. For women seeking to advance their careers, ARV actively provides tailored pathways, encouragement and advocacy to help them take their next step with confidence.

On Sunday 8 March, we celebrate women everywhere and join the global IWD community in asking: “What will you Give to Gain?”

It is a moment to reflect on how each of us as individuals, colleagues, leaders and communities can contribute to a more equitable future.
