Alpine Resorts Victoria is continuing its commitment to a more sustainable alpine future at Mt Buller, with new electric vehicle charging infrastructure and the use of 100% GreenPower across the majority of its operations.
The resort has recently installed two 22kW electric vehicle charging stations in the Horse Hill Car Park, providing a total of four public charging bays for resort users travelling to the mountain in EVs.
The chargers operate through the Chargefox network, the same platform used at Falls Creek, making the service familiar and easy to access for many snow-goers. Visitors simply scan the QR code at the charging station or use the Chargefox app to start charging before heading out to enjoy their time at the resort.
The charging stations have already proven popular, with strong patronage highlighting the growing number of visitors choosing electric vehicles for their journey to the mountain.
Approximately 85 per cent of Mt Buller’s electricity consumption comes from major operational sites supplied through the State Electricity Commission (SEC). These sites operate using 100 per cent GreenPower sourced through the electricity grid.
The EV investment complements ARV's broader focus on sustainability and emissions reduction and together these initiatives represent another step in the ongoing effort to reduce its environmental footprint while supporting the evolving needs of visitors.
As demand for sustainable travel options continues to grow, investments in cleaner energy and transport infrastructure are helping ensure Victoria's alpine resorts remain accessible, enjoyable and environmentally responsible destinations for future generations.
