Over the coming months, ARV will be developing a new Integrated Resort Management Plan at Mt Hotham, supported by Sports Advisory Partners Australia (SAPA), to deliver a clear Strategic Plan that sets the resort’s long term direction, priorities and practical actions for collective success.
Mt Hotham Alpine Resort is at an important point in its development, with a strong opportunity to better align around a shared, future-focused direction. Recent investment in public infrastructure has significantly improved visitor amenities, but there is more to be done to fully realise the benefits of these investments, particularly in strengthening Mt Hotham’s destination appeal, guest experience and overall performance. At the same time, the resort faces several challenges, including competing interests across the ecosystem, financial constraints, and the need for stronger alignment ahead of the upcoming snow season.
The development of this Strategy will enable us to:
- Define Mt Hotham’s strategic vision, mission and purpose
- Establish clear strategic priorities and critical success factors
- Identify measurable outcomes to track progress and performance
- Provide a practical and aligned framework to support decision-making, investment and long-term sustainability across the resort
We look forward to working with the Mt Hotham stakeholders and community throughout this process and developing a strong future-focused strategic direction for the resort.
The work at Mt Hotham forms part of a broader, coordinated approach across Victoria’s alpine resorts. In 2026, Resort Management Plans will also be developed and delivered by Mt Buller and Falls Creek, ensuring a consistent and strategic framework for long-term success across the sector. Through robust engagement with stakeholders, industry partners and the community, these plans will focus on shaping a clear, unified vision for the future. This strategic planning effort represents a significant step forward in strengthening the resilience and sustainability of Victoria’s alpine destinations for years to come.
