The project follows an extensive review process undertaken by the Lake Mountain Visitor Experience team, which incorporated insights from service reviews, department post-season reports, and findings from the 2025 Winter Visitor Survey. These inputs revealed key inefficiencies in the existing digital experience and helped shape a clear roadmap for improvement. Central to the redevelopment was the need to align the website with modern visitor expectations particularly around convenience, usability and engagement.
One of the most significant upgrades is the enhanced ecommerce functionality. The new platform enables guests to purchase resort entry passes, toboggan tickets, rental equipment and packages online, with seamless integration into on-resort point-of-sale systems. This advancement is expected to reduce friction in the booking process and improve operational efficiency on peak days.
The redesign also prioritises mobile-first usability, acknowledging that more than 70% of Lake Mountain’s visitors access the website on their phones. The new interface delivers a smoother, more intuitive experience across devices and accommodates seasonal transitions between winter and summer offerings.
In addition, the team sought to elevate the resort’s positioning through a more engaging visual identity, shifting towards a bold, more commercial design that reinforces Lake Mountain’s brand as “Victoria’s Premier Snow Play Destination”, with clearer calls to action guiding visitors through their journey from discovery to booking.
The successful delivery of the Lake Mountain website project represents a significant step forward in the resort’s digital transformation journey. With improved functionality, enhanced user experience, and stronger brand positioning, the platform is well placed to support increased visitation, streamline operations, and deliver a more compelling and cohesive customer journey.
