This Friday 6 June, Victoria’s alpine resorts will officially welcome the opening of the 2025 snow season. Each resort will feature a program of events and activities to draw visitors to the resort and celebrate this tradition in these much-loved Victorian destinations.

Amber Gardner, CEO of Alpine Resorts Victoria said, “Victoria’s alpine sector contributes an enormous $2.14 billion annually to the Victorian economy, so it’s great to see the winter season kick off with fresh snowfalls and plenty of activities in the resorts.”

“Each resort will host its own Opening Weekend celebrations, with fireworks at Mt Buller and Falls Creek, and activities across the other resorts, like prize give aways and activities for the kids,” she said.

“And with the recent snowfalls and ideal snowmaking conditions, visitors can find a range of experiences across the resorts from day one of the season,” stated Gardner.

“The resorts will also host Welcome to Country ceremonies from Traditional Owner partners, helping to open the season with meaning and connection. Victoria’s alpine resorts are a much-loved destination for Victorians, with over 1.38 million visitors each year seeking a unique alpine experience.”

“They attract more visitors than other Victorian icons, such as Philip Island Nature Park, Puffing Billy, and Sovereign Hill, and employ more than 12,000 people right across the state," said Gardner.
